Choosing stone types for you project can sometimes be confusing.  Here we have tried to take some of the guess work out of the process.  Below you will find information different types of stone, different types of finish surfaces and edge profiles.

Granite

Granite is a natural stone type and is a very long lasting durable surface. Each slab is unique, hard, durable, scratch-resistant, impervious to stains, heat, and water when sealed, relatively easy to clean, comes in all colors, still highly covetable with an even higher resale value.

Marble

Like Granite, marble is a natural stone so each slab is unique.   Marble is heat resistant, but is more porous than Granite which makes it more susceptible to staining.   Marble is a great choice for bathrooms, and around fireplaces.
